Creative Director in 3D Design | Medical Visualization | Over a Decade of Making Complex Science Accessible

I'm Gusztav Velicsek, a Dublin-based 3D director specializing in medical visualization. Over 13 years, I've learned that the most valuable work doesn't just look beautiful, it transforms how people understand complex ideas.

My career began in video games, but I found my calling in medical visualization and science education. Today, I create digital content that bridges the gap between complex medical concepts and the people who need to understand them. It's not just about making things look good; it's about making knowledge memorable and accessible for all.

Major Projects & Collaborations

I've worked with Apple, the George Lucas Educational Foundation, and Johnson & Johnson on high-profile 3D visualization projects. I directed 3D content for Complete Anatomy, which won the Apple Design Award in 2016 and earned nominations again in 2024. The app is featured on every iPad Pro in Apple stores worldwide.

My contributions have appeared in Apple and Microsoft advertising campaigns and supported product launches including the Apple Vision Pro and original iPad Pro.

My personal projects have generated millions of views on Sketchfab and earned features on 80 LEVEL and other industry publications. I've collaborated with YouTube creators like Angel Ganev and contributed to Udemy courses, consistently looking for ways to elevate the work of artists around me.

What Drives Me

I founded 3DMeetup Dublin, which grew to become Ireland's largest animation industry community with over 1,500 members. What really energizes me is watching artists discover what they're capable of. My goal isn't just to create great work, it's to raise the bar and elevate others in using 3D visualization to make an impact around them.

Current Focus

As a creative director at a major medical publishing company, Elsevier, I'm pushing the boundaries of medical and scientific visualization while empowering the next generation of 3D artists to recognize their potential and create meaningful work.

Beyond my day-to-day role, I'm passionate about creating content that has a lasting impact. This involves finding the best practices to deliver content that teaches and inspires. The kind of content that doesn’t just entertain for a moment in time, but instead, the kind of content people return to because it provides value. Value for the students learning, value for the medical professionals they might become, and value for the people they care for.
